Itinerary
4 AM: We have a very early morning start, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and brought to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there we take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town). You’ll have a couple of train options to choose from, depending on your preferred style of travel (regular Expedition or Vistadome with higher comfort and panoramic windows). The views on the way will be quite stunning in itself!
10 AM: When we arrive, we start our hike up to the peak of Huayna Picchu which will take about one hour. You surely will be taking many pictures from the top of the magnificent view of Machu Picchu below and the entire valley around. Take your time and enjoy! On the way down, we will explore the rest of the mountain and its many Inca sites and hidden treasures.
1:00 PM: You are free to explore Aguas Calientes town and have some lunch.
2:00 PM: We will take a short bus ride to Machu Picchu for a private guided tour. Your expert, English-speaking guide will bring the Lost City of the Incas to life for you! The entire tour takes about 2 hours, and you’ll then also have some time to explore by yourself and take pictures.
5:00 PM: There will be some free time for you in Aguas Calientes to have dinner, before we board our train back to Ollantaytambo where private transport will be waiting to take you back to your Cusco accommodation.
22:00 PM: Expected return to Cusco.
