Huayna Picchu (One Day TOUR)
The same day you visit Machu Picchu, it’s possible to climb the mountain just behind the citadel for a magnificent view. On your way to the top there are plenty of Inca secrets to discover. Tickets are limited but generally with good availability.

ITINERARY
4 AM: We have an early morning start, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and brought to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there we take the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town). You’ll have a couple of train options to choose from when booking (regular Expedition or Vistadome with higher comfort and panoramic windows). Along the 3.5 hour train journey, enjoy beautiful views of the different valleys along the Urubamba river.
10 AM: When we arrive, we start our hike up to the peak of Huayna Picchu which will take about one hour. At the top, take as many pictures as you want of this magnificent view of Machu Picchu below, and the entire valley around. Take your time and enjoy! On the way down, we will explore the rest of the mountain and its hidden Inca treasures.
1:00 PM: You are free to explore Aguas Calientes town and have some lunch.
2:00 PM: We will take a short bus ride to Machu Picchu to start the private guided tour. Your expert, English-speaking guide will bring the Lost City of the Incas to life! The entire tour takes about 2 hours, you’ll then also have some time to explore by yourself and take pictures.
5:00 PM: There will be some free time for you in Aguas Calientes to have dinner, before we board our train back to Ollantaytambo where private transport will be waiting to take you back to your Cusco accommodation.
22:00 PM: Expected return to Cusco.
